Educational Intent

The Drum Ensemble is open to students in Year 4. It provides students with opportunities to learn drum notation and develop their skills as part of a collaborative ensemble. Students will also extend their understanding of more complex rhythms, beat and part work. Drum Ensemble is held Tuesday lunchtimes and students will gain an understanding of the skills required to play bass, tenor and snare drums. The Ensemble will have opportunities to perform at school events and assemblies. 

Selection Criteria

Students in Year 4 are welcome to submit an expression of interest to join the ensemble. No experience or prior knowledge is necessary, however commitment to lunchtime rehearsals is expected.
